HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani assumed his role as the Amir of the State of Qatar on 25 June 2013, following HH the Father Amir’s announcement to transfer power to his Heir Apparent in an address to the Qatari people, who came forward pledging their allegiance to their new Amir.
