In her speech during the ceremony, HE Lolwah bint Rashid bin Mohammed Al Khater, Minister of Education and Higher Education, affirmed that the patronage of HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani reflects Qatar’s deep appreciation for teachers and its recognition of their pivotal role as a cornerstone of human development and national progress.

HE noted that the theme “Dedication that Cultivates Generations” is not merely a slogan, but a lived reality embodied daily by teachers across the country. She emphasised that teaching is a noble trust, one that transforms through educators’ efforts and devotion into tangible achievements that contribute to building individuals, strengthening society, advancing the nation, and serving humanity at large.

Honouring teachers is not a fleeting event, it is a celebration of one of the enduring pillars of our nation’s progress. Through knowledge, nations are built; through teachers, values are preserved, and generations are shaped. On this day, we reaffirm that the teacher’s mission will remain eternal, and their dedication will continue to stand as a testament to a nation that places humanity at its core.

She added that despite its nobility, teaching remains one of the most challenging and demanding professions, highlighting that a teacher’s passion and motivation require continuous support and encouragement to grow. From this perspective, the Ministry has raised the value of the honorary award this year and introduced new categories to recognise teachers at different stages of their careers.

The Ministry of Education and Higher Education continues to adopt leading international practices tailored to Qatar’s context. Over the past academic year, more than 20,000 teachers benefited from advanced training programs designed to enhance professional competence and elevate teaching quality.

Among these are the Innovation Leaders program, which encourages creativity in teaching methods; the Successful Start initiative, which supports new teachers in their first year and helps them integrate smoothly into the educational environment; the Tamheen program, which attracts young national talents to the teaching profession; the Qatari Teachers’ Fellowship Program (Khebrat), which sends teachers abroad to gain international educational experience; and the Tomouh Scholarship program, which has produced over 1,650 graduates to date, with more than 1,100 students currently pursuing their studies under the initiative.
