Strong demand as Women in Tech program sells out for 2026
The Permanent Web Summit Qatar Organising Committee convened in Doha this week, chaired by Sheikh Jassim bin Mansour bin Jabor Al Thani, Director of the Government Communications Office (GCO), to follow up on ongoing preparations for organising the third edition of Web Summit Qatar, which will take place from 1 to 4 February 2026, with the participation of leading figures, decision-makers, and entrepreneurs in the fields of technology and innovation.
The meeting discussed the latest updates on the Women in Tech program, one of the summit’s main features, which this year marks its tenth anniversary as part of the global event, being one of the most prominent international initiatives aimed at empowering women in technology, entrepreneurship, and digital innovation.
The Committee announced that all tickets allocated for the program at the upcoming summit have sold out, reflecting the strong turnout for the program. This category of tickets offers participating women all the benefits of general attendance, in addition to exclusive access to women-led meetings, discussion sessions, and workshops, as well as professional networking and mentorship opportunities led by female specialists in business and technology, making it the most sought-after category among the summit’s events.

To mark the program’s tenth anniversary, the Committee announced the organisation of a special evening in Doha to honour pioneering women in technology, investment, media, and scientific research. The event will be held as part of a series of evenings organised by Web Summit in several cities around the world, including London, Vancouver, Rio de Janeiro, Lisbon, and Dublin, celebrating leading women in various fields of technology and innovation.

The Committee also confirmed the participation of a distinguished group of prominent female figures in the upcoming edition of Web Summit Qatar, including HE Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al Thani, Chairperson of Qatar Museums; Dr Rania Al Mashat, Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation of the Arab Republic of Egypt; and Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, Minister of Digital Transition and Administration Reform of the Kingdom of Morocco, along with several other influential women in the fields of innovation and entrepreneurship.
The Women in Tech program is one of the most prominent global initiatives supporting women’s participation in the digital economy. Women have accounted for over 40 percent of summit participants, while 47 percent of startups at the previous edition of Web Summit Qatar were founded by women. This record figure highlights the initiative’s significant progress in representation and participation. The program has contributed to building a global network of creative and influential women in the technology sector through dedicated spaces and the launch of mentorship, training, and funding programs.
